First Nations Health Data

As one of the seven system priorities of HEALTHQ32, the First Nations First Strategy 2032 will accelerate the reform efforts over the next 10 years to achieve excellence in care and health equity with all First Nations people in Queensland.

In order to achieve this, a centrally supported, regionally enabled approach will be adopted with reform efforts concentrating on four focus areas:

  1. Eliminating racism
  2. Re-shaping the system
  3. Transforming care
  4. Strengthening the workforce

Measuring the performance of health services through a First Nations lens

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (First Nations) people are the first peoples of Australia. They are not one group, but rather comprise hundreds of groups that have their own distinct set of languages, histories and cultural traditions (AIHW 2015).

In partnership with the Health Equity Strategy Performance Monitoring and Reporting Framework, this page aims to measure and report the performance of the health and hospital services for First Nations peoples.
